Therefore, the Department of Medical Biotechnology seeks to have distinctive characteristics and lofty goals by implementing the Ministry’s laws, instructions, regulations, and systems accurately and honestly, in a way that reflects positively on the department’s outputs of specialized, highly skilled cadres that contribute effectively to building and advancing Iraqi society in various medical and environmental fields. The department began receiving students since its establishment and working to prepare all requirements for success and academic excellence for them by providing specialized cadres in various specializations and academic titles, who work with all sincerity and keenness to raise the scientific level of the department’s students, whether at the level of preliminary studies or postgraduate studies, in addition to developing Methods of university teaching and scientific research. Advanced by equipping classrooms and educational laboratories with the latest devices and equipment that contribute to delivering theoretical and practical scientific information with high accuracy, as well as establishing a specialized laboratory for advanced research for postgraduate students equipped with the latest equipment.

The College of Biotechnology aspires to achieve the goals of its scientific mission in the fields of education, research, community service, active participation in various fields of biotechnology applications, and keeping pace with the development of biotechnology sciences in the world and the extent of benefiting from them. Including in the research, scientific and industrial fields in our beloved country, and achieving the main goals to which the college aspires.

It aims to deal with different plants and extract and produce plant cell components (from secondary metabolic compounds) such as pharmaceutical compounds, pesticides, dyes, compounds used in food industries, etc., and develop genetically modified plants to resist diseases, tolerate salinity, and others through agricultural techniques.
